I’m Amanda Brookes, Partner Agent with The Avenue Estate Agents, and I’ve spent the last 22 years doing what I love — helping people move home.
Estate agency has been my career for over two decades, and throughout that time I’ve worked across Wednesbury, Walsall and the surrounding areas. I also live in Wednesbury, so this isn’t simply an area I work in — it’s home. I know the streets, the communities, the local amenities and, most importantly, the people.
Over the years I’ve helped hundreds of clients through some of the biggest decisions of their lives. I’ve built my reputation through hard work, honest advice and results and I’m particularly known for my strong negotiation skills, attention to detail and ability to build rapport with people. I’m proud to have built relationships with many repeat clients who have trusted me time and time again with their property moves.
I also understand the property journey from a personal perspective. I’ve bought and sold a number of homes myself and have taken on refurbishment projects, so I understand the excitement, challenges and decisions that come with property ownership from both sides of the transaction. This gives me a genuine understanding of what my clients are going through, whether they’re buying their first home, selling a family property, moving up the ladder or taking on a renovation project.
Why The Avenue?
I chose to become a Partner Agent with The Avenue because I wanted to offer my clients something different — a more personal, hands-on service while combining my experience and local knowledge with a modern approach to property marketing.
The Avenue gives me the tools to showcase properties beautifully, including HDR photography, presenter-led video tours, twilight photography and drone footage, alongside strategic social media marketing designed to put properties in front of the right buyers.
For me, great marketing is about making a property stand out, while great estate agency is about everything that happens behind the scenes — communication, negotiation, managing expectations and making sure every opportunity is maximised.
A little about me
Outside of estate agency, family is a huge part of my life. I live in Wednesbury with my family and our much-loved Cockapoo, Syd, who definitely keeps us busy!
When I’m not working, I love making the most of life with family and friends. I enjoy going on holiday, discovering new places and making memories, and I’m also a big fan of live music — there’s nothing better than getting out to a concert and enjoying a great night out with good company.
I’m a real people person and I think that naturally comes through in the way I work. I enjoy getting to know my clients, understanding what matters to them and building genuine relationships.
Local knowledge
Having lived in Wednesbury and worked in the area throughout my entire career, I have an in-depth understanding of the local property market and the communities that make the area such a great place to live.
I know the importance of local amenities, transport links and schools when people are choosing their next home. Wednesbury benefits from excellent connections, including access to the West Midlands Metro, with Wednesbury Parkway providing Park & Ride facilities, as well as convenient road links towards Birmingham, Wolverhampton and the wider motorway network.
For families, the area also offers a range of well-regarded schools including Queen Mary’s Grammar School and Queen Mary’s High School in Walsall and Wood Green Academy in Wednesbury which is a long-established local secondary school and sixth form.
There’s also plenty on the doorstep, from Walsall town centre and its shops, restaurants and leisure facilities, to Wednesbury town centre, local parks, supermarkets, independent businesses and easy access to surrounding towns and cities.
This local knowledge allows me to give clients much more than a property valuation. I can talk to buyers about the areas they’re considering and help sellers understand what makes their location attractive to prospective buyers.
My approach
My approach is simple: be honest, be available and work hard for my clients.
I believe communication is key and that you should always know what’s happening with your property, from the moment we meet until the day you pick up the keys.
After 22 years in estate agency, I know that no two moves are the same. Every client has different priorities, circumstances and expectations, which is why I take the time to understand what matters to you and tailor my approach accordingly.
For me, estate agency has always been about people as much as property — and after 22 years in the industry, that’s still the part I love most.
If you’re thinking about moving, I’d love to have a conversation — whether you’re ready to sell today or simply want some honest advice about your options.
