Executive Assistant
Hi, I’m Michelle Edwards, a young 51-year-old who keeps everything ticking over smoothly in the background as Executive Assistant. While I may not be a co-owner, the team affectionately calls me “the Boss,” and I like to think it’s because I keep things in check! My role is all about making sure everything runs seamlessly behind the scenes.
I assist the Partners and Co-owners by managing contracts and memorandums of sale, making sure all the necessary paperwork is sorted and deadlines are met. I also carry out Compliance Audits on all properties, ensuring everything is up to scratch and in line with HMRC requirements. If it needs to be done, I’m on it!
On the HR side, I’m responsible for onboarding new starters, sending out employment contracts, setting up accounts, handling holiday requests, and overseeing payroll. I make sure payroll is submitted and paid on time, and I also take care of paying Partners’ invoices for their monthly completions. When properties complete, I’m the one who sends out invoices to solicitors to keep everything moving forward. I also handle payments to suppliers and make sure all the necessary documents are ready for the accountants when it’s time for VAT returns. It’s all in the detail, and I thrive on making sure everything is done to the highest standard.
When I’m not juggling paperwork, I’m enjoying my weekends with my husband, who works nights during the week. We love catching up with friends and family at our local pub, where you’ll often find me with a vodka & diet coke in hand, blasting out a few karaoke tunes—it’s all about having fun and letting loose! I’m also a big fan of musicals, and I love heading to the theatre with my sister for what we call “sister days”—a perfect excuse to unwind and enjoy some quality time together.
At the heart of it all, I love being the person who keeps things organised and running behind the scenes. It’s the little things that make a big difference, and I take pride in being that steady, reliable presence for the team.
